Libya
Five people have been confirmed dead and 11 others wounded following an attack on protesters in Benghazi located east of Libya.
The protesters were shot during a gathering as they assembled at el-Kich to support forces controlled by General Khalifa Haftar, loyal to the parliament in Tobrouk.
According to a military source, the shells were fired from Soug el-hout, north of Benghazi where an armed group, opposed to forces loyal to General Haftar, is based.
For two years now, Benghazi has been a theatre of serious clashes between loyalists forces and armed groups as they battle to control zones in the area.
Forces loyal to General Haftar have been able to recapture some areas but still face difficulties in freeing the entire city.
